Ann Routh

Welcome to 7th Grade & the new School Year!

My name is Ann Routh and it is my pleasure and honor to work with your children each day.  I have been teaching at Day Creek Intermediate in Etiwanda School District since 2006.  I am married to wonderful man.  We have four grown children together, including one who teaches 8th grade ELA/SS at EIS.  I have five grandbabies, 4 boys and 1 girl.  I have a houseful of loving pets.  I love to go camping, watch scary movies, sew, cook, bake, work on my home, and spend time with my friends and family.

I have high expectations for my students and expect their partnership this year. Respect is an integral part of my classroom. Each student is a unique individual and is capable of great things. It is my goal that your student not only be successful academically, but also grow into a well-rounded contributing member of society. I look forward to forging a partnership with your student and with you, the parents/guardians. I strongly believe education is power and it is my goal to help each student achieve success.  I want all of my students to achieve literacy, be successful, and be self-sufficient citizens of the 21st-century global world.  Please communicate with me about what you need help with and what your goals are.

Universal Access/PACK

The Universal Access (UA) period adds an instructional period to the school day for students to be grouped based on standardized data, district assessments, common formative assessments, and classroom performance. All students are grouped by academic target areas for UA classes. UA classes are designed to meet the unique academic needs of students by offering multiple levels of differentiated flexible classes. UA class changes may occur throughout the year as student levels of performance are realigned with the UA class that provides the best support.

Mrs. Routh's ELA PACK instruction includes:

  • Enrichment & extension activities/assignments on grade level standards

  • Writing techniques & mechanics

  • Vocabulary

  • Listening & speaking activities

  • Grammar

  • Scholastic Scope Magazine

  • Critical thinking
